titleOfInvention Propanolamine derivatives
abstract 1493998 Propanolamine derivatives BEECHAM GROUP Ltd 25 May 1976 [3 June 1975] 24005/75 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (R 1 =H, C 1-4 alkyl, benzyl; R 2 = H, C 1-4 alkyl or NR 1 R 2 = 5-7 membered saturated hererocyclic group; R 3 =H, C 1-4 alkyl or acyl; R 4 = phenyl, substituted phenyl, naphthyl; R 5,6 = H, C 1-4 alkyl; broken line=single or double bond; X = O, CH 2 ) and their salts are prepared by standard methods, e.g. reaction of the corresponding oxirane and amine, optionally followed by acylation and/or salt formation. The diethers may be prepared by quaternation, alkylation and hydrogenolysis. The preparation of the oxiranes is described. Some of the above compounds are antidepressants and/or anorectics, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.n[GB1493998A]
