Diphenyl ethers and diphenylthioethers of gen. formula (I): (in which one of A and B is O,S,SO or So2 and the other is O; Alk is opt. branched 1-4C hydrocarbon; R is opt. esterified carboxyl, amido derived from COOH, OH, -OSO2CH3, NH2, NHR1, NR1R2, NHZOH, NHZNR1R2, C(=NH)NH2, C(NH)NH-OH or 2-delta2-imidazolinyl; Z is opt. branched 2-4C hydrocarbon; R1 and R2 are 1-3C alkyl; R1+R2+N may form a 5-7 membered N-heterocyclic gp. opt. contg. O or N and opt. substd.) and their basic- and acid-addn. salts, may be used in the treatment of circulatory disorders esp. diseases of heart and vessels.
