abstract | 1484501 Diaper PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 15 Oct 1974 [15 Oct 1973 19 Aug 1974] 44733/74 Heading A5R [Also in Divisions B5 and Dl] A rectangular disposable diaper comprises a porous top sheet, impervious backing sheet, an absorbent pad therebetween, and adipic acid therein to supress ammonia production from urine, there being between 0.3 and 4.0 grams of adipic acid per diaper. The acid may be incorporated by solution in water or ethanol, which is then applied by spraying dipping or printing, or it may be mixed with 1% to 10% by weight of azelaic acid, and incorporated as a hot melt, or alternatively applied by dry or granular metering processes.
