abstract | 1444103 Preparation of phosphonothioureides ROHM & HAAS CO 17 Oct 1973 [18 Oct 1972] 48353/73 Addition to 1389525 Heading C2P Compounds of Formula I where Y is O or S, R is C 1-6 alkylsulphonyl, optionally substituted benzene sulphonyl, C 1-6 alkanoyl, chloroacetyl, benzoyl or substituted benzoyl, R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> are C 1-6 alkyl, C 2-6 alkoxy alkyl, C 1-6 haloalkyl or optionally substituted phenyl and X represents from 0 to 4 substituents selected from C 1-6 alkyl and alkoxy and halogen, are prepared by (I) reacting, in a substantially anhydrous inert organic solvent having a boiling point of at least 30 C. and in which the reactants are soluble, substantially equimolar amounts of a thiocyanate salt of a cation having a water-soluble chloride and a compound of formula to form a compound of formula which may be isolated, (II) adding to the reaction mixture a substantially equimolar amount of a compound of formula to form a compound of formula and (III) adding to the reaction mixture a substantially equimolar amount of a compound of formula to form the desired product. The solvent may be, glyme, diethylether, ethyl or butyl acetate, methylene or ethylene dichloride, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, acetonitrile, benzene or toluene. The thiocyanate salt may be a Na, K, Li, Ca, Ba or NH 4 salt.n[GB1444103A] |
