titleOfInvention | Nicotine fortification of smoking products |
abstract | 1391614 Tobacco compositions &c IMPERIAL GROUP Ltd 21 Sept 1972 [23 Sept 1971] 44370/71 Heading A2C Smoking materials and products thereof, especially reconstituted tobacco or tobacco substitutes, are fortified with nicotine by the addition of a nicotine derivative of a polyuronic acid. In the examples, nicotine pectinate or nicotine alginate are incorporated in a refined slurry of tobacco winnowings and general tobacco offal, and cast to form a sheet. Also a tobacco substitute sheet is formed by casting a mixture containing slow-set citrus pectin, CaCO 3 , K 2 CO 3 diatomaceous earth, MgHPO 4 , TiO 2 , citric acid, glycerol, and nicotine pectinate. The sheets are shredded and used as cigarette fillers. In another example, cut rolled tobacco stem is treated with nicotine pectinate solution.n[GB1391614A] |
