abstract 1315174 Animal feed blocks C O McKENZIE 6 Aug 1970 [16 Aug 1969] 37970/70 Heading A2B A method of making a vitreous animal lick comprises heating a material comprising 50-100% by wt. molasses, at 221-321‹F for 3-12 minutes, drawing a vacuum of at least 24" Hg on the material, breaking the vacuum, introducing the hot material into moulding means and allowing the material to cool until it hardens into a block. The block may comprise cane, beet or citrus molasses, tallow, acidulated soap stock, a residue of cottonseed, corn or soy oil, hydrogenated oils of animal and vegetable origin, salt, urea, calcium phosphate, ammonium phosphate, fishmeal, bone meal, meat meal, kaolin, bentonite, chopped or ground grain, alfalfa, coconut, soya, cottonseed, sesame or linseed, wheat or rice bran, trace elements such as manganese, iodine, zinc, copper, cobalt and iron, e.g. in the form of a chloride or sulphate, antioxidant such as BHA and BHT, anthelmintic, antibiotic, phenothiazine, growth stimulant and bloat preventive.n[GB1315174A]
