abstract 1307374 Cyanoacrylate adhesives INTERCONTINENTAL CHEMICAL CO Ltd 5 Oct 1970 [10 Oct 1969] 47165/70 Heading C3P An adhesive comprises a. monomeric ester of 2-cyanoacrylic acid and a diaryl or aralkyl ether plasticizer. The plasticizer constitutes 0 25- 10% by weight of the composition, and is of formula ROR 1 , where R is phenyl having 0-5 substituents and R 1 is either phenyl with 0-5 substituents or C 1 -C 20 alkyl. The substituents may be Cl, Br and/or C 1 -C 20 alkyl. Optional ingredients are sultone stabilizers, thickeners,. auxiliary adhesive agents, cross-linking agents, free radical polymerization inhibitors and dyes. In Examples I, II, and V-VII methyl cyanoacrylate is used together with (I, II) an alkylated diphenyl ether; (V, VII) diphenyl ether; and (VI, VII) dichloromethyldiphenyl ether.n[GB1307374A]
