abstract | 1,244,024. Antibacterial compositions. BRISTOL-MYERS CO. 19 Sept., 1968 [20 Sept., 1967], No. 44519/68. Heading A5B. A composition for treating bacterial infection comprises 15-110 parts by weight of amphotericin B to 100-550 parts by weight of ampicillin or hetacillin. A preferred dosage unit comprises 15-110 mg. of amphotericin B per unit dose and 100-550 mg. of hetacillin or ampicillin per unit dose. Preferably the composition is reconstituted with water for use, and contains a buffer to maintain the pH at 2-8 (preferably 2-3 with hetacillin; 5-8 with ampicillin). Conventional sequestering agents, suspending agents, sweetening agents, colouring and flavouring agents, anti-oxidants or preservatives may be included (many examples given).n[GB1244024A] |
