abstract The present invention relates to a process for producing a fertiliser from a mix comprising at least one source of activated calcium oxide and organic waste. The organic waste has a dry matter content of greater than 65 percent and comprises greater than 70 percent by weight of the mix. The organic waste could be any of meat and bone meal (MBM), green waste, poultry waste or mushroom waste. The invention further relates to the fertiliser produced. <Figure 1>
