abstract The present invention provides a tissue scaffold comprising a sterilized layer or layers of submucosal tissue from the gall bladder. The tissue maybe cross-linked or fixed. The fixational cross-linking may be achieved by a method selected from enzymatic cross-linking, glycation or fixation with formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde, dialdehyde starch, glyceraldehydes, cyanamide, diimide, diisocyanate, dimethyl adipimidate, carbodiimide, epoxy compounds or genepin. <Figure 1>
