titleOfInvention Process for producing thermoplastic elastomer with high resistance to heat and chemicals
abstract A plastomer of high chemical and heat resistance is prepd. by dynamic vulcanization from (all pts. wt): 25-75 thermoplastic 75-25 raw and/or partially crosslinked rubber 0.1-30 vulcanizing agent 0-300 additives/structuring agents, fillers, processing aids, etc.) a) the thermoplastic has high heat resistance and is partially crystalline, pref poly-(phenylene)-sulphide b) the rubber used is a fluorinated elastomer. c) chosen vulcanizing agents are selectively suitable for either plastic or rubber or simultaneously for both. ADVANTAGE - The heat and chemical resistance of plastomers of this type is superior to those of fluorinated rubbers and in some cases approach the resistance of PTFE. These cpds. are remarkable due to their thermoplastic nature.
