Insecticidic and acarcidic compsns. with active ingredients of new O,O-di:alkyl-O-aryl-phosphate cpds. contain: 20-99.9% solid or liq. carrier. 0-50% additives, pref. liq. emulsifying agents, active ingredient stabilisers, and/or thickening, dispersing agents and antifoams. 0.01-80% active agent (I) (where R1 and R2 are each 1-7C alkyl or 2-7C alkenyl gps., R3 a nitro- or tri:fluoro-methyl gp. R4 a nitro-tri-fluoromethyl, a 1-7C alkoxy-carbonyl or 2-7C alkenyl-oxy-carbonyl gp. R5 a H atom, 1-7C alkoxy or 2-7C or 2-7C alkenyl-oxy gp. R6 a H nitro-, trifluoro-methyl gp. X an O or S. - Typical active cpds. are: O,O-di: methyl or di:ethyl-O-(2-nitro-4-tri fluoromethyl-5-methoxy-phenyl)-phosphate or thiophosphate. - Cpds. of formula (I) are prepd. from: (a) halogenated dialkyl phosphoric ac. with phenol or phenoxides.
