abstract Processing begins with known mechanical phase decompsn. step performed in known equipment. Resulting liq. suspension is stirred after adjusting pH with lime to 12 in the presence of pref. potassium-phosphate and magnesium-sulphate and of the formaldehyde present, to destroy stability of colloid suspension and provoke pptn. reactions. Suspension is then neutralised to pH 6.5-7.5 in two steps, pref. using ferro-sulphate, and allowed to settle. Liq. so obtd. is stored in anaerobic conditions, sterilised with formaldehyde and then used either as industrial water for the washing of stables, or after addition of plant feed substances and/or microelements, for irrigation of crops. It is pref. to condition liq. before use in stables with further addition of formaldehyde, potassium-phosphate and magnesium-sulphate. - Equipment for process comprises mechanical preseparator, alkaline reactor, two-step neutraliser and settling tank, mud collecting container, and conveying pump, mud conditioning and dewatering unit consisting of mixers and filtering devices, anaerobic storage containers, sterilising unit, devices for adding substances to the resulting liq., and units for supplementing the dewatered mud with other solid substances and for sterilising solids.
