A brazing method (100) includes providing a substrate (101), providing at least one groove (103) in the substrate, providing a support member (105), positioning the support member (105) over the at least one groove (103) in the substrate (101), providing a braze material (107), applying the braze material (107) over the support member (105) to form an assembly (109), and heating the assembly (109) to braze the braze material (107) to the substrate (101). Another brazing method includes providing a preform (203), providing a wire mesh (201), pressing the wire mesh (201) into the preform (203), heating the preform (203) to form a braze material including the wire mesh (201), providing a substrate (101), providing at least one groove (103) in the substrate (101), applying the braze material over the at least one groove (103) in the substrate (101), then brazing the braze material to the substrate (101). |
