titleOfInvention | Method and apparatus for generating isolated attosecond pulses |
abstract | Method of generating isolated pulses of light of sub-femtosecond duration comprising the steps consisting in: a. generating at least one laser pulse (IL) of pico- or femtosecond duration; b. introducing a spatio-temporal coupling of said laser pulse, manifested through a temporal rotation of its wavefronts after focusing; c. focusing said laser pulse on a target (JG, CS), by way of which a train of light pulses of sub-femtosecond duration (IA) is generated, in which each pulse propagates along a different direction; d. isolating a said light pulse by spatial filtering. Device for the implementation of such a method. Use of such a method to measure the phase of the carrier of a laser pulse of pico- or femtosecond duration with respect to its envelope. |
