abstract FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to the use of neurofilipipic acid derivatives of general formula (I) as inhibitors, inhibitors, or stimulants of nerve growth or regeneration associated with immunophilin proteins, in particular peptidyl-preryl-isomerase or rostamase enzyme activity. In general formula (I), A is -CH 2 -, -O-, = NH- or = N-alkylpiperidine; B and D are independently selected from Ar, alkyl, cycloalkyl, or cycloalkenyl, or (a) the general formula wherein Q is hydrogen, alkyl or alkenyl; T is Ar-aryl or cycloalkyl-aryl; L is hydrogen or O-alkyl, -O-alkenyl, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl, or Ar is J is hydrogen, alkyl or benzyl; K is alkyl, benzyl, or cyclohexylmethyl piperidine; or J and K together form a 5-7 membered ring.
