The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of 5'-inosinic acid and 5'-guanylic acid, which can be used as a flavoring or the like, starting from inosine, guanosine or their precursors, by the use of 5-organosynesine triphosphate (ATP) -producing microorganism or DNA encoding a protein capable of producing 5'-guanylic acid. The invention further relates to a novel protein having inosine-geninin kinase activity, a gene encoding this protein, recombinant DNA containing the gene and microorganisms transformed with recombinant DNA. The process according to the invention is suitable for the production of 5'-inosinic acid and 5'-guanylic acid. ŕ |
