abstract | The present invention relates to a method for producing open-cell titanium foam, in particular for the manufacture of implants.nAccording to the process of the present invention, a homogeneous mixture of titanium powder and sodium fluoride powder is prepared,nthe powder mixture is then compressed under high pressure and the compressed powder mixture is vacuum-vacuumed in two stepsnsintering, such that, in the first heat treatment step, the melting point of sodium fluoride is not much longer thannpre-sinter the titanium during the retention step and then sinter further 60-80% of the titanium melting pointnwhere the sodium fluoride evaporates under the influence of vacuum, and the titanium is sufficiently sintered. |
