abstract | The present invention provides compounds of the formula: wherein R 1 is hydrogen, C 1-8 aliphatic, C 1-6 alkoxycarbonyl, C 1-6 alkylthiocarbonyl, or a cyclic ring system having 3 to 14 ring atoms; R2 is hydrogen, C1-C8 aliphatic; or R 1 and R 2 together with the carbon atom to which they are attached form a cyclic or bicyclic ring system containing 3 to 14 ring atoms from the preparation of compounds of formula (I) wherein R 3 and R 4 are readily removable as novel starting materials or intermediates cyclization to compounds. The invention also relates to diacylhydrazines of the formula (II). |
