Drug delivery system for two or more drugs |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a drug delivery system comprising at least one compartment comprising a thermoplastic core and a surrounding thermoplastic coating comprising a mixture of a core steroidal progestogen compound and a steroidal estrogen compound in a ratio that allows both the progestogen, both the estrogen compound in a physiologically necessary amount and the progestogen compound is initially solubilized in the polymer core with a relatively low degree of supersaturation, and the estrogen compound is dissolved in the polymer core at a lower concentration than the progestogen compound and is thermoplastic. The drug delivery system of the present invention is particularly suited for vaginal use for contraception. ŕ |
