titleOfInvention | Method for the preparation of phytohemagglutinin |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method for producing phytohemagglutinin from a seed of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris). The product is obtained from the bean by aqueous-acid extraction, optionally by ultrasonic digestion, followed by ammonium sulphate precipitation and dissolution of the precipitate to produce a crude product. The crude product is then purified. The process is characterized in that the obtained crude product is dissolved in distilled water, the solution is dialyzed against ammonium ion and concentrated, then the concentrated solution is purified by repeated fractionated ammonium sulphate precipitation, first with ammonium sulfate to 45-55% by weight. then saturated to 75-85% by weight and the second precipitate obtained is lyophilized after distilled aqueous and physiological saline.
