titleOfInvention | Process for producing porous ceramics or porous and compact products of powder metallurgy |
abstract | Application of a generally used powder-furan-polymeric acid catalyst system is claimed. - Porous ceramic prods. are prepd. from a still pourable mixt. - This contains ceramic powders, furan- and urea resins and 8 wt. % max surfactant, 10 wt. % max, blowing agent and as a catalyst 3-20 wt. % of a polycondensate of p-m-cresol-sulphonic acid or a urea-sulphonic acid complex. The prepd. mixt. is cast, blown, crosslinked and fired. When the system finds use as a powder metallurgical plasticiser, 20 wt. % max of a 40-60 wt. % furfuryl-alcohol-ammonium chloride mixt and 10 wt. % catalyst mixt is added to the urea resin. - 15 wt. % max n-butyl alcohol or glycerol are also added to the catalyst system. 10 wt. % max of the mix produced is added to a powder suspension of the respective powder metallurgical product. - The thus formulated mixt is granulated, through drying while being atomised The granulated prod. is processed by moulding or sleeker casting, heat treatment and firing. |
