abstract Alkyd resins modified by alkyl-phenol-formaldehyde are prepd. by adding 1-30 wt.% hydroxy gp/gps contg. ketonic resins of 50-400 mg KOH/g hydroxyl number and 50-150 deg.C m.pt. to the reaction mix. Once 50% conversion rate during the condensation reaction at 150-200 deg.C is passed, 0.1-10 wt.% pref. 5.0-7.0 wt.% alkyl-phenol-formaldehyde resin/s of 50-150 deg.C m.pt. is also added. Alkyl phenols in these resins are substd. by a side chain of not less than 3 and not more than 10C atoms.
