abstract | According to the process of the present invention, (IR, cis) -2,2-dimethyl-3 - [(Z) -3-phenoxy / III) is of the formula (I). substituted alkoxy-3-oxo-1-propenyl] cyclopropanecarboxylic acid derivatives. Compounds of formula (I) are prepared by: a) reacting an acid of formula (II) or a functional derivative thereof with an alcohol of formula (III) - or (b) a compound of formula XI with an alcohol R-OH or (c) a compound of formula (I ') in which R is one or two C 1-5 alkyl groups substituted by one or two protected hydroxy groups to produce R as a substituent of one or two C 1-5 alkyl groups substituted by one or more hydroxy groups; or (d) reacting the compound of formula (VI) with an acid hydrolyser which selectively cleaves an ester group attached to the carbon atom of the cyclopropane ring 1, and the compound of formula (IX), the compound of formula (X) thus obtained is treated with a weak hydrogenating agent, or is first treated with a weak hydrogenating agent and the resulting compound of formula (II) is optionally reacted with an alcohol of formula (III) in the form of a functional derivative thereof.
