abstract Kijanimim of the formulan and salts thereof are disclosed. The process for preparing these compounds comprises cultivating a strain of Actinomadura kijaniata or a strain derived therefrom. Kijanimicin and its salts are useful as anti-acne, anti-tumour, antimalarial, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory agents.
