abstract |
Cyclobutanones of the formula I or cyclobutenones of the formula II are prepared by reacting haloacyl halides of the formula III with an alkene or alkyne in an inert aprotic polar solvent above 5 DEG C in the presence of zinc or tin. Cyclopropanoic acids of the formula V can be prepared from the compounds of the formula I by heating them in water with a base. If the starting material used is a cyclobutenone of the formula II, the double bond is first hydrogenated. <IMAGE> |
