The present invention relates to cells, compositions, and methods for differentiating cells from the adipose tissue into cells that express at least one genotypic or phenotypic characteristic of the thyroid cell. The present invention also relates to a method of differentiating isolated, adipose tissue-derived stromal cells, and to administering a pancreatic endocrine or degenerative condition in a host, and an implant comprising a cell of the invention. As a source of differentiated and functional cells for the cells produced in the process, they can be used to develop products for scientific, implantation, transplantation, and tissue engineer work to treat pancreatic diseases and restore pancreatic tissue. |
