titleOfInvention Metal vapor arc plasma torch and its use in metallurgy, plasma energy pyrolysis and vitrification, and other material transformation processes
abstract The essence of the invention is the development of a plasma torch where the arcing gas is the vapor of a (treated) metal. If the arc-forming metal is chosen correctly, the metal (ion) participates in the given technological process and reactions in such a way that it forms a chemical compound with the undesirable component of the material to be processed, but this compound as an emitted material is a commercial product that can be sold to the industry. The process does not require the formation of a separate anode electrode - as a consumable part - because the arcing metal itself is the anode. The cathode is also chosen with a material composition and mechanical design suitable for the plasma chemistry work processes to be performed. The material of the cathode forms neither a compound nor an alloy with the material to be processed, or with its intermediate or final product components. By changing the temperature and/or the flow rate of the cooling medium, the hollow cathode also enables fine control of the reactions.
