The present invention relates to a process for producing collagen sponge. During the process, air collagen foam is produced for the collagen gel which is dried. Sponge portions having a cavity diameter greater than 0.75 mm and less than 4 mm or an average cavity diameter of 3 mm are separated from the dried product obtained. The collagen sponge according to the invention, optionally coated with a combination of a fibrin glue such as fibrinogen, thrombin and aprotinin, may be used to seal the pockets. The invention also relates to a device for extracting a portion of collagen foam and degenerating another part of the collagen foam into a collagen gel. The invention also relates to a sustained collagen sponge, which is primarily a target for use in the cerebral or intestinal tract. HE |
