The present invention relates to methods and compositions for reducing the taste of poorly acting pharmaceutical agents in the oral cavity. The invention relates to particles comprising one or more drugs, aromatics and cellulosic materials, and processes for their preparation and their conversion into pharmaceutical dosage forms. In some embodiments, the particles have a diameter of up to about 1000 mm and include a pharmaceutical agent, a flavoring agent, at least one cellulose material which is microcrystalline cellulose, a hydrocolloid co-processed microcrystalline cellulose or any combination thereof, or mixed with a hydrocolloid.
