abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of 2'-amino-5'-hydroxypropiophenone of formula (e) which can be used for the synthesis of camptothecin analogues by converting a compound of formula (a) to a compound of formula (b), a compound of formula (b) (c) a compound of formula (c) is converted to a compound of formula (d) and a compound of formula (d) is converted to a 2'-amino-5'-hydroxypropiophenone of formula (e) - wherein R can be cleaved by catalytic reduction védőcsoportotjelent. The invention further provides a process for the preparation of a tricyclic ketone of formula (h) for the synthesis of camptothecin analogs by an improved method.
