titleOfInvention | Systems and methods for reducing intraocular pressure |
abstract | The drain valve (10) of the present invention is suitable for implantation into the transparent corneal portion of the eye and comprises a substantially cylindrical body (14) extending from the proximal end to the distal end with conduction from the anterior chamber of the eye to the outer surface of the transparent cornea; a head (12) formed at the distal end of the body (14) and adapted to the outer surface of the transparent cornea, which has an opening (22) in fluid communication with the channel to allow the outflow of hallucin water and minimize the influx of microorganisms; a sole (18) formed at the proximal end of the atest (14) and adapted to the inner surface of the transparent cornea, which has an opening for inlet of the aqueous humor connected to the channel fluid; and a longitudinal filter insert, which can be fixed in the duct, and is a flow regulator for further reducing the influx of microorganisms. The implant implant set comprises a drainage valve (10) for insertion into the cornea, leading from the anterior chamber of the aqueous humor to the outer surface of the cornea, and a drainage valve (10) for insertion and removal of the external valve. with an insertion tip adapted for pre-positioning through its surface and slidable from a first position to a second position and a sliding sleeve for sliding the drain valve from the insertion tip to the cornea when sliding from the first position to the second position. The implant can be made from a mixture of HEMA, methacrylic acid, dimethacrylate crosslinker, and free radical initiator by casting or cutting in one piece silicone mold, whereby its outer surface is provided with a free tissue and a volatile solvent.
