Oriented thermoplastic vulcanizate |
abstract |
Oriented films are produced. A thermoplastic vulcanizate is prepared which is prepared by incorporating at least 20% by weight of thermosetting rubber, based on the total weight of the composition, into a thermoplastic polymer. After the mixture is prepared, the thermosetting rubber is present in the form of discrete particles in the continuous thermoplastic polymer phase. The resulting composite is subjected to tension by drawing, film blowing or other film making methods in a known manner. This stretching makes the continuous phase polymer molecules ordered or oriented in the direction in which the stretching is applied, thereby obtaining an oriented thermoplastic vulcanizate according to the invention. This material has improved gas permeability and improved flexibility properties. SHE |
