titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of heterocycles annelated with benzo unit |
abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of benzo-fused heterocycles of formula (I) wherein X is sulfur or oxygen or NH; R1 is cyano, nitro, Ac, OAr, COOAr, COOH, COOA or CONR4R5; R2 and R3 are independently hydrogen, A, nitro, cyano, hydroxyl, OA or Ac; R4 and R5 are independently h, A, Ar or Ac, or R4 and R5 taken together may be - (CH2) - (CH2) n- (CH2) -; A is C 1-6 alkyl; Ac is C 1-6 acyl; Ar is unsubstituted phenyl or phenyl substituted with A, nitro, cyano, hydroxyl or OA; and n is 2, 3 or 4 - which is a tetrahydrobenzo-fused heterocycle of formula (II) - wherein X is sulfur or oxygen or H; R1 is cyano, nitro, Ac, OAr, COOAr, COOH, COOA or CONR4R5, R2 and R3 are independently hydrogen or A, nitro, cyano, hydroxyl, OA or Ac; R4 and R5 are independently hydrogen, A, Ar or Ac; or R4 and R5 together are - (CH2) - (CH2) n (CH2) -; A is C 1-6 alkyl; Ac is C 1-6 acyl; Ar is unsubstituted phenyl, or phenyl substituted with A, nitro, cyano, hydroxyl, or OA; and n is reacted with a 2, 3 or 4 -catalytic noble metal catalyst in the presence of a hydrogen acceptor and then the acylated amino group is deacylated by the addition of an amine.
