abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for the epoxidation of olefins using molecular oxygen hydrogen. The process according to the invention is characterized in that a gold-containing compound, preferably nanometer-sized, is used as the catalyst on a support which contains, as one or more elements, an element belonging to the lanthanide series having an atomic number in the range from 58 to 71 atoms. The compounds of the present invention generally do not contain titanium, and cerium and neodymium are excluded from the allanoid series.
