abstract The present invention relates to novel 5-HT1A receptors that bind efficiently to image indole derivatives, pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds, and the use of the compounds of the present invention in the manufacture of pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of psycho-psychiatric and neurological disorders. However, a number of compounds of the present invention are effective as inhibitors of recombinant serotonin and / or D4. it acts as a ligand, thus being particularly useful in the treatment of depression and psychosis. In the general formula (I) of the compounds of the present invention, X is oxygen or sulfur or -CR4R5; Y is -CR6R7-, -CR6R7-CR8C9 or -CR6 = CR7-; or X and Y together form -CR 4 = CR 5 - or -CR 4 = CR 5 -CR 6 R 7 -; Z is oxygen or sulfur; W is nitrogen or carbon or methine; n is 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10; m is 2 or 3; A is O or S; the dashed line optionally present on a double bond; R 1, R 2 and R 3 are independently hydrogen or halogen, or nitro, cyano, trifluoromethyl, trifluoromethoxy, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, hydroxy, formyl, \ t acyl, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino, acylamino, alkoxycarbonylamino, aminocarbonylamino, alkylaminocarbonylamino or dialkylaminocarbonylamino; R4, R5, R6, R7, R8 and R9 are independently hydrogen or halogen, or trifluoromethyl, optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino - phenylamino substituted on the phenyl moiety, phenylalkylamino optionally substituted on the phenyl moiety, acylamino, hydroxy, mercapto, cyano, nitro, -COOR18 or -SO2-R19; R18 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, optionally substituted phenyl, phenylalkyl optionally substituted on phenyl, amino, alkylamino or dialkylamino; R19 is hydrogen or alkyl, optionally substituted phenyl, phenylalkyl optionally substituted on phenyl, amino, alkylamino or dialkylamino; R10 and R11 independently represent hydrogen or alkyl; and R12, R13, R14, R15 and R16 are independently hydrogen or halogen or nitro, cyano, trifluoromethyl, trifluoromethoxy, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulfonyl - hydroxy, formyl, acyl, amino, acylamino, alkoxycarbonylamino, aminocarbonylamino, alkylaminocarbonylamino, dialkylaminocarbonylamino or -NR20R21 group
