The present invention relates to a composition for infant formula comprising casein protein and whey protein; further provided is a method of preparing the composition, applying the composition to the manufacture of a pharmaceutical and nutritional product to supplement a malnutrition, and a method of supplementing the malnutrition by administering an effective amount of the composition. In a preferred embodiment, the composition comprises a non-hydrolyzed protein, free arginine, tryptophan and histidine, as well as a lipid source and a carbohydrate source.
