titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of chromate carboxylic acid |
abstract | SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a process for preparing a chromanic carboxylic acid, wherein a secondary amine and an acid in the presence of a dialkylphenol compound, a formaldehyde, and a single alcohol are reacted to obtain an alkoxymethylated phenol compound (step 1); the resulting alkoxymethylated phenol compound is reacted with a carbon-carbon double ester at a temperature not lower than 100 ° C to obtain a dialkyl chromanic carboxylic acid ester (step 2); the resulting dialkyl chroman carboxylic acid ester is hydrolyzed to obtain a dialkyl chromanic carboxylic acid (step 3); and finally, the dialkyl chromanic acid thus obtained is reacted with an aromatic hydrocarbon in the presence of a Lewis acid (step 4).
