The present invention relates to compounds of formula (Ia) or (Ib) wherein A is an imidazole, pyrazole or triazole ring, R is -C (X) R 1, -C (X) -N (R 1) 2, -C (X) -OR1, -C (X) -SR1, -SOnR1, -SOnOR1, -SOnSR1 or -SOn-N (R1) 2 wherein R1 is hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, alkenyl, substituted alkenyl, alkynyl, substituted alkynyl , aryl, heteroaryl, heterocyclic group, lower alkenyl group, lower alkanoyl group or a nitrogen atom to which it is attached form a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring containing one or more heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of nitrogen, oxygen and alkyl; aralkyl, substituted aralkyl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl or aryl, R3 is furanyl, pyrrolyl a powder, a thiophenyl group, a benzofuranyl group, a benzopyrrolyl group, or a benzothiophenyl group, which may be optionally substituted with one or more substituents wherein the substituent is hydroxy, acyl, alkyl; alkoxy group, alkenyl group, alkynyl group, substituted alkyl group, substituted alkoxy group, substituted alkenyl group, substituted alkynyl group, amino group, substituted amino group, aminoacyl group, acyloxy group, acylamino group, alkaryl group, aryl group, aryloxy group, heterocyclyl, heterocyclic oxy, aminoacyloxy, oxycylamino, thioalkoxy, substituted thioalkoxy, thioaryloxy, thio-heteroaryloxy, -SO-alkyl, -SO- (substituted alkyl), -SO-aryl, -SO-heteroaryl, -SO-heteroaryl, - (substituted alkyl), -SO2-aryl or -SO2-heteroaryl or halomethyl, X is O, S or NR1, n is 1 or 2.
