titleOfInvention Substituted dioxothiazolidine derivatives, process for their preparation and pharmaceutical use
abstract The present invention relates to a hydrate of 5- [4- {2- [N-methyl-N- (2-pyridyl) amino] ethoxy} benzyl] -2,4-dioxothiazolidine maleic acid salt, which is that (i) 0.3-0.6 molar equivalents of water; and (ii) produces an infrared spectrum that has peaks at 1757, 1331, 1290, 1211, and 767cm -1 at the following wavelengths; and / or (iii) results in a Raman spectrum with peaks at the following wavelengths: 1758, 1610, 1394, 1316 and 1289 cm -1; and / or (iv) in the solid state, produces a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum that contains substantially the chemical shifts listed in Table 1 of this specification; and / or (v) substantially obtains the X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) image shown in Figure 4. The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of a hydrate and to its use in medicine. SHE
