abstract The present invention relates to plant cells, propagating materials, plant parts and plants which are highly resistant to aldose reductase homologous protein and which are highly resistant to stress effects of various origins, preferably transgenic. The invention also provides DNA molecules, vectors, and methods for producing plant cells overexpressing an aldose reductase homologous protein.
