abstract The present invention relates to an isolated DNA molecule encoding a plant quinolate phosphoribosyl transferase enzyme (QPRTase), a peptide encoded by it, and DNA constructs comprising the DNA molecule. The invention also relates to plant cells containing a DNA construct, to transgenic plants, to methods for their preparation, and to seeds and stocks thereof.
