The present invention relates to an orally administrable pharmaceutical composition for the controlled release of dexfenfluramine comprising a complex carrier comprising dexfenfluramine, complex fast-release mini-particles, and a neutral slow-release carrier comprising dexfenfluramine and talc. makes a controlled release of the active ingredient - as well as coated with a surfactant.Slow-release mini-particles are a polymeric coating cellulose compound or acrylic copolymer. It is preferred to use acetylcellulose as the polymer. The surfactant component of the mini-particles is a salt of a fatty alcohol ester such as sodium lauryl sulfate. Excipients such as stabilizers, flavors and colorants can be used in the coating of amine particles.
