abstract |
The present invention relates to an orally administrable pharmaceutical composition for the controlled release of dexfenfluramine comprising a complex carrier comprising dexfenfluramine, complex fast-release mini-particles, and a neutral slow-release carrier comprising dexfenfluramine and talc. makes a controlled release of the active ingredient - as well as coated with a surfactant.Slow-release mini-particles are a polymeric coating cellulose compound or acrylic copolymer. It is preferred to use acetylcellulose as the polymer. The surfactant component of the mini-particles is a salt of a fatty alcohol ester such as sodium lauryl sulfate. Excipients such as stabilizers, flavors and colorants can be used in the coating of amine particles. The pharmaceutical composition of the present invention is useful in the therapeutic treatment of obesity. HE |
