Pyrethroid or pyrethrin pediculicide, for use in a method of treating a human subject to control infestation with multicellular ectoparasites with an exoskeleton, said method comprising topical application to said subject of the first and second pediculicides, wherein said first pediculicide is carbamate or organophosphorus. pediculicide is a pyrethroid or pyrethrin pediculicide, wherein said second pediculicide is administered between 15 minutes and 12 hours after administration of said first pediculicide, and wherein said two pediculicides are administered in the form of a topical composition in the form of a solution, cream, gel, conditioner, dispersions, powders, lotions, sprays or ointments, where at least one of the preparations is a shampoo or conditioner.
