titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AMINO ACIDS. |
abstract | A process for the preparation of an α-alkyl-histidine and its lower alkyl esters thereof comprising subjecting an α-nitro-alkanoic acid to at least three carbon atoms by reacting with the 4-chloromethylimidazole thereof to give an ester , in contact with sodium hydride, add said chloromethylimidazole, stir until the reaction is complete, isolate the nitro-β-imidazole ester, reduce the said nitro-imidazolyl ester, and if desired with R , hydrolyze the obtained ester by heating with an inorganic acid, and, if desired, re-esterify the obtained carboxylic acid by heating with a lower alkanol in the presence of an inorganic acid. |
