abstract A process for the preparation of penicillins of general formula Formula I, wherein R1 is lower alkyl, R2 is lower alkyl or lower alkyl radical, and R3 is lower alkyl which may be substituted by a radical, aryl mono an alkoxy or aralkoxy group, a phenoxy group or thiophenoxy group thereof may be substituted by halogen, lower alkyl radical alkoxy, dialkylaminoride or dialkylaminoalkylorose, one is a naphthoxy group or , a carboxy group, a carboxanilidoma, a morpholine group, a phenylsulphonyl group, a ureidogroup or a thithyroid group which may be substituted by a lower alkyl or monoclonal aryl to form R1 and R or R2 and R3 together form an ethylene oxide ring after the carbon atom in question, which substituted with lower alkyl or aryl mononuclear, characterized in that the 6-amino-penicillanic acid is reacted with the acid chloride or acid bromide or an anhydride of the acid which is generally R2 and R3 have the meaning given above.
