titleOfInvention PRODUCTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN INNOVATIVE BIO-AID MATTRESS FOR SEAFUL OILS
abstract The present invention relates to enhancing the biodegradation of small-scale marine oil biodegradation through biofeedback / bio-stimulation and comprises a product whose application is carried out in the field, the method of production of the product on a laboratory or industrial scale, and a manner of applying the product. The product consists of a floating hydrophobic layer, which has a large surface / volume ratio, covered with fully developed bacterial biofilm. The biofilm is formed by pure strains or a mixture of bacteria capable of degrading the components of crude oil. The methodology for the development of biofilm and the adsorption of nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) on the hydrophobic surface are given. The present invention is applicable to small-sized oil spills near the shore, where hydrocarbons can be released continuously (e.g. from a sunken ship or from a small leak container). The product can be optionally used in conjunction with floating dams to limit the spread of the oil spill. The product successfully addresses the most common problems associated with the application of biofuel to biodegradation of oil in the marine environment, namely the release of added biomass and non-localized application, providing a means of continuous and localized biofuel and biostimulation.
