abstract | The invention relates to a novel selective ligand of the sigma-1 (c1) receptors: 3,3-biphenyl-N- (phenylethyl) propan-1-amine and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts and excipients, having, on the one hand, novel anti-apoptotic properties and cell-protective action on normal cells, in particular neurons, (origin of its anti-degenerative, in particular its anti-neurodegenerative and cell-renewing activity) and, on the other hand, with pro-apoptotic properties on the cancer cells which, above its neuroprotective effect, of pro give the original pharmacological "profile" anti-cancer, particularly synergistic with anticancer drugs in use, with activity against neuropathic pain, causing the latter. |
