abstract The present invention relates to the synthesis and study of novel stilbenoid derivatives that exhibit potent antioxidant and in particular neuroprotective activity. In addition, these derivatives lack estrogenic activity and one does not exhibit potent anti-estrogenic activity. The present invention comprises nine derivatives of general formula (I), wherein n, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 are specified in the specification of the invention.
