abstract A solid polymer of an olefin of at least 3 carbon atoms is stabilized with a mixture of (a) an alkylidene or cyclo-alkylidene bis-phenol, and (b) a diester of an o ,o 1-thiodialkanoic acid said acid having at least 8 carbon atoms. The preferred stabilizers are (a) condensates of aldehydes or ketones with a phenol having a C4 to C12 p-substituent or with a 3,6-dialkyl phenol (e.g. p-nonyl phenol/acetone or 3-Me-6-t-Bu-phenol/butyraldehyde), and (b) dilauryl or dicetyl g ,g 1-thiodibutyrate. Conventional additives also may be present, e.g. carbon black or Ca or Zn soaps. Specification 851,670 is referred to.
